Jacquelyn Thompson wrote a sympathy message

“Mavis was an amazing woman. She was my friend. I loved listening to her stories of her life and had many adventures with her. In her late 80s she was a activist in the Stevens Point area speaking out on political issues. She had an amazing will to live. Her brittle bones made her have to leave Wisconsin and move back by her family in a warmer climate. Our road trip there was something I will always treasure. She made friends at every stop we made along the way. I will miss her.”
