He was predeceased by: his parents, Tempie McNeil Terry and Dewey Terry; his brothers, Hansel Terry, Dewey S. Terry and Michael Terry; and his son Taufiq Sayyed-Terry.

He is survived by: his sons, Hakim Sayyed-Terry and Yasmin Sayyed; his sister Betty Jean Moore; his granddaughter Imani Sayyed; his great grandchild Aminah Sayyed; Norman Terry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
