We announce the death of Olivia R. Schaad (Tucson, Arizona), who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 79. Olivia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Olivia will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Olivia will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Olivia’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Riesgo and Catalina Riesgo; her brother Jimmy Riesgo; her daughter Debbie; her brother-in-law Gabriel Gastelum; and her nephew Gabriel Gastelum (Guerro).
She is survived by: her husband Ken Schaad; her sons, Fernando Acevedo (Maritza) and Kurt Schaad (Ronda); and her siblings, Danny Riesgo (Lily) and Frances Gastelum. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Hills (4440 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85718). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
