He was predeceased by: his father Rudy Ortiz; his grandparents, Rudy Ortiz Sr. and Alice Cole; his uncle Paul Ortiz; and his close friend Robert A. Robles.

He is survived by: his mother Geraldine Ortiz; his stepfather Tony Matz; his children, Jacelle, Martin, Aviana, Gabriella and Gianna; his sister Melissa Cady; and his stepbrothers, Adam and Allen Matz. He is also survived by his nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
