He is survived by: his children, Alicia Avalos and Vinny Rifici; his parents, Claire Tapia and Mike Tapia; his siblings, Martina Avalos, Lorena Tapia, Armida Galvez (Christian) and Nicholas Tapia; and his fiancée Corina Castro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
