He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Sharen Swagerty of Canon City, Colorado, Walt Jr. (Mona) of Kingman, Arizona, Chris (Paula) of Arlington, Texas and Kathryn Robinson (Rick) of Tucson; and his brother Bob of Topeka. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
