He was predeceased by: his mothers, Ethel Starks and Louise Starks; and his siblings, Charles Lee Starks, Robert Earl Starks and Lizzie Mae Morgan.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sherrie L. Garth, Tanya L. Bryan (Kevin Bryan) and Yvonne Starks; his former wife Doris Starks; his siblings, Willie-Eva Hatley of Crenshaw, MS and Leeola Taylor (Chris) of Memphis, TN.; and his great grandchild Bailey Newman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
