Thomas Florence wrote a sympathy message

“I am a greater person for having known Elgin. He was the first person to be of help in the time of need. His compassion for people wasn't a abstract concept, but was very real. He had a second home here in Yarnell for years. I could tell he loved this mountain town. May God Bless Sandy and her family”
