James Weidenbach Obituary

James Weidenbach, age 49, passed away February 15, 2022, in Phoenix AZ. James "Jimmy" was born on May 1, 1972, to James "Butch" and Terri Weidenbach in Yuma AZ. Jimmy graduated from Kofa High School, where he met his wife, Ticia. He remained a resident of Yuma for most of his life. After high school Jimmy worked as a plumber by trade. Jimmy and Ticia married in May of 1995. His whole life changed with the birth of their two sons, Austin and Parker. Those little boys were his whole world. Jimmy loved the boys more than he knew was even possible and could not have been prouder to be their dad. A passion he was hoping to share with his sons was his love of football. Jimmy loved football, playing it or watching it, it didn't matter. He was a diehard Cowboys fan from the age of about 9 years old until his passing. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ticia Weidenbach, his two sons Austin Weidenbach and Parker Weidenbach, and his mother Terri Weidenbach, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nephews, and a niece in Yuma. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father James "Butch" Weidenbach, his maternal grandmother, Maxine Koretz, and his uncle James Martin. For those that were lucky enough to have known him, I think they would agree that Jimmy was the guy that showed up when it mattered, had your back, helped anyone in need, and protected those he loved. He was a simple man that enjoyed the simple things in life. His life was not the same following his accident in 2004. He fought hard and faced many challenges over the years, never giving up. When he was given a 1% chance of survival, he survived, and on more than one occasion. Those around him were amazed at the fight he had in him, and he had that very fight in him until the end. We take comfort in knowing that he is in peace now. He will be missed more than words can say.
