In Loving Memory of Pedro "Pete" Sosa, August 12, 1953 – July 7, 2026Pedro "Pete" Sosa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered eternal life on July 7, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born on August 12, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, Pedro was the oldest son in a family of six children. From an early age, family was at the center of his life. He carried that love of family with him throughout his years and was incredibly proud of the people God placed in his life.
Pedro was a proud Tejano and Texan through and through. He loved his heritage, Tejano music, dancing, and a great pair of cowboy boots. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and proudly cheered on his team.
Pedro was a true history buff with a lifelong love of learning. He had an incredible curiosity about the world and was always interested in discovering something new. He especially loved history and could talk for hours about the things he had learned. Whether it was history, music, food, culture, or the world around him, Pedro was always eager to learn and just as eager to share what he knew with others.
He loved good food, cooking, traveling, and experiencing life. He had an adventurous spirit, an unforgettable personality, and a gift for talking to just about anyone. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, Pedro had a way of making you feel important. When he loved someone, he spoke about them with pride and passion.
His faith in God was an important part of his life. Pedro believed in the power of prayer, spoke often about the Lord, and planted seeds of faith within his children and family that will continue long after his earthly life. He did not have to live a perfect life to leave a godly legacy. He taught his children to pray, reminded them of the Lord, and gave them a foundation of faith that continues through the generations.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Adelina Sosa, and his four children, Albert, Pedro Jr., Desiree, and Debra Sosa. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
And then there was his granddaughter Scarlett—who, if you asked Pedro, just might have been his favorite. Their bond was something truly special. From the moment he first held her, she had a special place in her grandfather's heart. The love, laughter, and memories they shared will remain with her for a lifetime.
Pedro also leaves behind his beloved siblings, extended family, and many friends whose lives were touched by his larger-than-life presence.
As Pedro left this earthly life and entered his eternal home, we find comfort in believing that he was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved mother, Loida Sosa, and Robert Sosa, along with the loved ones who went before him. What was a heartbreaking goodbye for those left here on earth was also a heavenly homecoming.
Those who knew Pedro will remember his stories, his laughter, his love of music, his faith, his curiosity, his adventurous spirit, and the unmistakable way he could bring life into a room. He loved deeply, lived boldly, and left behind a family that carries pieces of him forward.
As Proverbs 20:7 says: "The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him." — Proverbs 20:7 (KJV), Pedro's greatest legacy can be seen in the family he leaves behind—in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all those he loved. The seeds of faith he planted are still growing. His stories will continue to be told, his laughter remembered, and his love carried forward from one generation to the next.
Though his earthly life has ended, Pedro's eternal life has begun.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
