It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nicolette Michelle Hiemenga (Alameda, California), born in Oakland, California, who passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 43, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Nicolette departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Nicolette may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Nicolette leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her father John Hiemenga; her uncle Stan Hiemenga; and her grandparents, Jack Hiemenga, Clyde and Clarice Grimstvedt.
She is survived by: her daughter Helen Hughs; her mother Mary Hiemenga; her siblings, Peter Hiemenga (Adriana) and Stephanie Hiemenga; and her grandmother Helen Hiemenga. She is also survived by 4 nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Alameda Christian Reformed Church (2914 Encinal Ave, Alameda, CA 94501).
