“My deepest condolences to Garry's family and friends. I got to know Garry in 2014 when he was appointed as Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities. As his assistant, it was such a pleasure working for him. Garry was a down-to-earth person and easy to talk to. I enjoyed listening to his pen show stories and the various countries he traveled to. I will forever remember him.”

During that time it was my privilege, honor and sincere pleasure to know and work with Garry through his many iterations on campus; first as Professor, then Dept. Chair, onto Assoc. Dean, and finally Dean. Garry cared deeply about students, staff and faculty alike. Such wonderful humor and compassion will be missed. My sincerest condolences go out to all family and friends.”
