It is with sadness that the passing of Nelia Cynthia Sistena Medeiros of American Canyon, California is shared. Nelia, born on October 11, 1958, passed away on August 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Gualberto Sistena. She is survived by: her husband Raymond Medeiros; her children, Jessica (Mike), Jared and Rebecca; her grandchildren, Mariah, Sofia, Jason, Jaia, Olivia, Nathan and Kaileia; her mother Remedios Sistena; and her siblings, Sylvia Sistena, Cecil Sistena and Ferdi Sistena. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, godchildren, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Twin Chapels Mortuary (1100 Tennessee St, Vallejo, CA 94590). A vigil service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM at the St. Vincent Catholic Church (925 Sacramento St, Vallejo, CA 94590).
In Lieu of Flowers: In keeping with Nelia's wishes and her lifelong spirit of generosity and service, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Alpha Pregnancy Clinics, ACTS, the USO, or City of Hope — organizations and causes that reflect the compassion, faith, and care for others that Nelia carried throughout her life.
