She is survived by: her son Anthony Galaz; her daughter-in-law Ericka Barragan; her daughter Rhonda; her son-in-law Matthew McBurney; her sister Monica; and her brother-in-law Ruben Mendez. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and many devoted nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made in Rita's memory to support need-based financial aid at Mater Dei High School.
