“I had the privilege of working with Bob in the 949th TC (FC), Army Reserves, in Baltimore. Of course back then we called him "Chief Blomerth", or "Skipper" if you were fortunate enough to sail with him. He was that rare man who could be both your leader and your friend simultaneously. We hit it off when we each learned that the other was also a former submariner. A fine mariner, and an even better human being. He is missed.”
