James Thomas leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James Thomas’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James Thomas will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Ann Murphy (Brunscher); and his parents, General Houston Murphy and Erma Rose Malone. He is survived by: his sons, Tom Murphy (Laurie), Ken Murphy (Anne) and Brian Murphy (Stacey). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, along with his many nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:15 PM at the Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93202).
