He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl McElwain and Inez McElwain; and his sisters, Barbara Kersh and Margaret Graves. He is survived by: his wife Gail; his daughters, Paulette McElwain and Suzanne McElwain; and his granddaughter Ashley Metz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93203).
