She was predeceased by : her parents, Alexandrina Almada Chaves and José Puim; her husband Manuel Mello; her grandson Edward Pereira; and her siblings, José, Antonio, João, Manuel, Maria and Beatriz.

She is survived by : her daughter Loretta Pereira; her son-in-law Joe of Atwater; her brother Agostinho Monteiro of Massachusetts; her grandson Paul Pereira of Atwater; and her godchild Eddie Mello. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
