She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Gary Edward Smith; her daughters, Michelle Ruiz, Cheryl Smith and Kristi Wheatley; her grandsons, Carson Ruiz and Justin Ruiz; and her siblings, Frankie Gowdy, Jean Taunton, William Johnson and Danny Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater Bakersfield First Pentecostal Church (1418 W Columbus St, Bakersfield, CA 93301). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Harbor Lawn-Mt Olive Memorial Park (1625 Gisler Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626).
