We announce the death of Gary Lee Chin of Bakersfield, California, who passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 77. Gary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabel Chin (Lee) and Ne Toy; and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his siblings, Marvin Chin, Karolyn Sheehan and Diane Hance; his daughter Tammy Brown; his grandchildren, Allison Carter and Branden McCay; his great grandchildren, Harrison Carter and Samantha Carter; his grandchildren, Alysa Hall, Taylor Hall and Dallas Hall; and his great grandchildren, Phoenix Rinker, Martha Hall, Sylas Santana and Calliope Santana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's name to a charity that serves veterans, such as Honor Flight Kern County, Equine Heart Connection, or the Wounded Heroes Fund.
