Gilbert Allen Lewis Obituary
Gilbert was born on February 10, 1938, in Los Banos, CA. to Manuel and Mary Lewis. After high school he went to Modesto city college, where he received an AA degree, he then went on to Fresno State and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a dairy background. Following graduation, he went into the Air Force National Guard where he served six years. In 1961 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Sandra Pricolo. They moved to Bakersfield in 1967 where he worked for the Health Department for 40 years as a dairy inspector. He was involved in many activities; coaching baseball, volunteering as a 4-H Leader, deer hunting, and fishing with friends. He enjoyed spending time at his beloved ranch and talking to his horse Cheyenne. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Christ the King Church and loved to travel to different countries with close friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sandra, daughter Kim and son-in-law Frank Garrido, son Kurt and daughter-in-law April, daughter Karyn and son-in-law Sean Casey, and eight grandchildren: Chaz and his wife Sarah Casey, Carlee, Connor, and Cambree Casey, Luke and Madison Lewis, Victoria and Anthony Garrido and great-grandson Avery Casey.
On behalf of the Lewis family, we would like to thank you for coming and celebrating our dad’s life. We appreciate your love and support during this time of our sorrow. It would mean everything to Dad to see all his family and friends in one place. We all know how much fun Dad loved to have!
