It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Guy T. Toone Jr. (Bakersfield, California), who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Guy may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Guy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Toone and Mildred Toone; his nephew Brian Hammons; and his grandson Caleb Guy Shuck. He is survived by: his children, Jeremy (Shannon Toone) of Edgewood, NM and Amy (Robert Shuck) of Rustburg, VA; and his sisters, Diane Rowles of Bakersfield, Linda Ward (Darrell) of Bakersfield and Vonnie Story (Mike) of Bakersfield. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St, Bakersfield, CA 93306). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93203).
Guy was a dedicated supporter of Houchin Blood Bank and was just one donation shy of reaching the 20-Gallon Club.
