He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Long and Gene Walsh; his stepfather Harold Long; and his sister Donna Hale. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Denise Adkins (Robin) and James Walsh (Maia); his grandchildren, Tyler Adkins, Kyle Adkins, Brian Walsh, Mallie Ramirez, Maxine Mangubat, Jason Goin, Christopher Goin and Bree Meyers; his nieces, Lori Miller and Mandi Evans; and his nephew Rob Hale.
A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bakersfield National Cemetery (2801 F St, Bakersfield, CA 93301). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Auditorium Building.
He went on to work for the same oil company for 43 years, retiring when Parkinson's disease made it impossible for him to continue.
