He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold L. Songer and Marjorie M. Songer (Wilkins); and his sister Judith McCord. He is survived by : his former life partner Cherylinn Doyle; his wife Vickie Wheeler; his children, Cari Warren (Darren) of Laramie, WY, Lacey Mercil (Tim) and Rhett Songer of Minneapolis, MN.; his grandchildren, Tyler (Camille), Amanda Warren, Marlie, Bode Mercil, Damion Songer, Kayla Pinkston, Aubree Benson, Jacob Hicks and Victoria Hicks; and his former life partner Vickie Songer.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Seven Oaks Country Club (2000 Grand Lakes Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93311).
