Ron Was Born in Kansas City, Kansas to Riley and Marjorie Sherin. After moving to Bakersfield, he attended local schools and graduated from North High School. After high school, he worked alongside his father as a commercial plumber. He found the love of his life, Mary Dean Tuley and married her December 31, 1961 in Williams, CA. He was a loving and dedicated family man. Together he and Deanie built a home in Bakersfield and raised 3 children, Ronald Brandon "Brandy", Gloria Michelle "Sissy" and Mary Danielle "Dani".
His passion and drive for restoring Model A cars, scooters and furniture drove him to a successful and full life. He opened Bix Furniture Refinishing in 1966. He was an extremely gifted craftsman who gave life back to abused and neglected cars, scooters and furniture, making them beautiful again. Specializing in antique restoration, he was second to none. He was known as “Mr. Bix” by everyone who knew him.
His skills were tested when he built his first Cracker Box wooden race boat, using a Patterson pattern. He enjoyed racing it for years.
Ron is preceded in death by his loving parents, Riley and Marjorie Sherin, brother John and his daughter Gloria.
Ron leaves behind his wife, Deanie of 60 years, son Brandon “Brandy”, daughter Danielle Wurster (Rick), granddaughters Kinsey (Vinny), and Siara, grandsons Brandon (Ashley), Erin, Vincent, Richard and Philip. 4 great grandchildren Kayson, McKinlee, Daisy, and Zoey.
