He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hugo Houchin and Gertrude Gilson Houchin; his brother Clifford; his daughter Jill Bowden; and his granddaughters, Christennie and Devonnie Houchin.

He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Vicki Houchin, Chris Houchin, Steve Houchin (Laura) and Joan Houchin; his siblings, Donald Houchin (Patti) and Diane Houchin; his sister-in-law Shirley Houchin; and his grandchildren, Britain, David Houchin, Steven Houchin, Nicholas Houchin (Emily), Caroline Siegel and Kelsie Bowden.
