He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Corease Spawn; his brother-in-law T. Robert Spawn; and his brothers, Edwin, Harold, William, George and Roy.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen Corease Grainger; his son-in-law Dan Schaffer; his grandson-in-law Joe Curnutte; and his great grandchild Charlie Joan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (4600 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93309).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Walter's memory to the First United Methodist Church (4600 Stockade Hwy; Bakersfield, CA, 93309) or to the Kern County WWII Veteran's Memorial (6077 Coffee Road, #4-192; Bakersfield, CA; 93308).
