She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Johnson and Neotha Joseph; her stepmother Loretta Gibson; her siblings, Albert Johnson, Arthyl Stillwell, Johnnie Mae Arceneaux, Elsie Mae Pierre and Raymond Johnson; her former husband Willie Hunter; and her sister Beverly Williams.
She is survived by: her brother Charley Johnson (Kris); and her siblings-in-law, Petty Hunter (Tonya), Diane Johnson, Linda Hunter and Edna Andrews. She is also survived by her 13 nieces, 11 nephews, a multitude of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
As a devout member of Shiloh Baptist Church, she embodied the Christian virtues of charity and service.
