He is survived by: his sister Mary Bussing; his sons, Roy Mathews Jr. and Joseph Mathews; his daughter-in-law Doresa Mathews; his grandchildren, Thomas Mathews, Kiarra Mathews, Ashton Mathews and Alex J. Rios; and his former wife Frances Conde. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel (50 E Nicolet St, Banning, CA 92220). A wake was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:30 AM.
