He was predeceased by: his parents, James Morris Welsh and Flora DeBoor Welsh; his son James W Welsh II; and his siblings, Durban, Charles Oakes, Helen Gerhart, Barbara Pettigrew and Dorothy Teepee.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen; and his children, Judy, Sherrie Welsh, Patricia Evans, Richard Rodriguez (Rommie), Danny Rodriguez (Karina), Willie and Bruce Welsh Johnson. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
