“When I was a senior in high school, I remember listening to her on a panel. She told a story about the fun things she did at her first year at her university. She told us about an adventure she had with an outdoor club she joined, the people she met, and the memories she made there. That story inspired me so much about my journey and how I want to spend my time in college. Samrawit was a big part in the SEO Scholars community. She inspired many and I hope that her legacy lives on.”

I clearly remembered that we both went to Francisco Middle School, and I had always looked up to her and admired her kindness. I also got into UC Davis just like Samrawit and will be part of Class of 2030. She will forever be my inspiration, I am deeply sorry for the loss, and I will also take some proper time to mourn for Samrawit's passing.”
