Jon leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jon’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Jon will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse McFarland and Irene "Peg" Starr. He is survived by: his friend Selma Pioneer; his wife Laurel Jacobsen; his children, Chris McFarland (Amanda) and Beth McFarland; and his stepchildren, Jonathan Waltmire (Amanda), Jason Waltmire (Cyndi) and Joy Bratton (Darin). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601).
