It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Genora Gettone (Burlingame, California), born in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Genora Gettone and Edna Mae Gettone; his grandparents, Maud Lemons and Elroy Haywood; and his sister Sandra Anita Freeman.
He is survived by: his brothers, Lawrence "Jack" and Elroy Gettone; his wife Rhittie L. Gettone (Watts); his sons, Vernon G. Gettone, Jr. (Rachel) and Rashad A. Gettone; his grandson Micah Ezekiel Gettone; and his cousin John Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
