Ida M. Kelly Obituary

Ida Mae Kelly, a 56-year resident of Camarillo, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2018 at the age of 83.

Ida was born on September 5, 1935 in Boone, Iowa. Her family moved to Long Beach where she married Walter Kelly. Being a military family, Ida and Walter moved to Camarillo and together they had seven children.

Ida had an extraordinary appreciation for life. She was very creative which could be seen in her scrapbooking, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed the simple things in life such as watching sports, bowling and waiting for the hummingbirds to come to her porch. Her love of animals was expressed in her devotion to her dog, Kodi and her cat, Whiskers. She had an adventurous soul and even went skydiving at the age of 70. She loved to travel and even bent over backward to kiss the famous Blarney Stone in Ireland. The most important thing about Ida was the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She attended as many events as possible, always cheering them on.

Ida is survived by six of her children: Michael Kelly, Timothy (Lori) Kelly, Patrick (Melodie) Kelly, Theresa (Gary) D'Andrea, John ’Mark’ Kelly, and Colleen Kelly, 12 grandchildren: Christopher (Dorrie), Kevin (Brooke), Davis, Steven, Daniel, Dionne, Nicole, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Trevor, Quincy, and Cedar, and two great-grandchildren: Jeremy and Jackson. Ida will be seen in heaven with her parents, Ray and Violet Mosher, and her son Christopher.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 1075 E. Daily Dr., Camarillo. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2 at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Dr. Camarillo. After the service, friends and family will gather at the cemetery reception hall for food and celebration of life.
