He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Hicks and Sybil Hicks; his brother William "Bill" Hicks; and his brother-in-law Warren Lenahan. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his daughters, Kathleen Hicks (Bryce Allemann) and Janet Hicks; his siblings, Gary Hicks (Joan) and MaryLou Lenahan; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Butte Home Health and Hospice.
