We announce the death of Jack K. Sterne Sr. in Claremont, California, who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his parents, Madison G. Sterne and Lyda Frances Sterne; and his brother G. Sterne of Nauvoo, IL. He is survived by: his wife Linda K. Sterne; his sons, Jack K. Sterne, Jr. (Sunyatta) of Washington, D. C., Charlie W. Sterne (Sara) of Columbia and Paul A. Sterne of Columbia; his grandchildren, River E. M. Sterne of Anchorage, AK, Madison Sterne Turrentine (Will) of Greenville, S. C. and Fletcher O. Sterne of Charlotte, N. C.; his niece Jennifer Sterne; and his nephew Toby Sterne of Nauvoo, IL..
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (2827 Wheat St, Columbia, SC 29205). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Barr Center at St. John's Episcopal Church (2827 Wheat St, Columbia, SC 29205).
