He was predeceased by: his parents, Faustino Mata and Inez Mata (Lazos); his wife Eusebia Mata; and his children, Angel Mata, Daniel Mata and Steven Mata.
He is survived by: his children, Julian Mata Jr. (Sarah) of Fresno and Diana Mata Silvas (Cesar). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
