She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddie and LuLa; and her brothers, Pierre and Jeff Carter. She is survived by: her children, Christopher Coffey (Talia), Christine Coffey and Raphael Coffey (Nacess); her grandchildren, Ka'Miyah Wallace, Kenzo Coffey, Anu Coffey, Kamden Coffey, Dessiyah Coffey and Ezekiel Coffey; her sisters, Barbara Blount, Virginia Savoy (Everett), Freddye Kassim (Hanif) and Diane Carter; her aunt Evelyn Fisher; and her uncle Henry Larkin (Betty).
Marlene lost her extended battle with Alzheimer's on October 1, 2025, however she was peacefully greeted in heaven by her father, Eddie; mother, LuLa; and brothers, Pierre and Jeff Carter.
