Darrell Wayne Dean Obituary

Darrell Wayne Dean, 61, of Dinosaur, Colorado passed from this life on April 29, 2017 from a sudden heart attack caused by complications of Lupus Disease. Darrell was born on March 14, 1956 in Corona, California to Ellwood Evans Dean and Margaret Mary Smith. Growing up in a Navy family he had the opportunity to live in California, Hawaii, Colorado and Utah. After his dad's service in the Navy came to an end, the family settled in their home state of Utah.

Darrell graduated from Kearns High School in 1974. He worked in the drilling industry and owned his own landscape and irrigation business, Aquatech Irrigation, as well as co- owning Pristine Painting and Home Improvement with his wife Marie (who he met and married in Rangely) for many years. Darrell and Marie had recently moved to the Skull Creek community to quietly retire. It was there that they loved and adored one another until "he closed his eyes forever." He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the mountains of Utah and Colorado and spent many years hunting, fishing and living in them. He loved to play hard and lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellwood Evans Dean and his sister Mary Dean Connin. He is survived by his Wife Marie Urie Holland Dean. mother Margaret Mary Smith Dean; Children Kristi Dean Towles (Jeremy), Melissa Dean Schow (Ryan), Joshua Dean (Brittany); grandchildren Evan, Jenna, Alissa, and Hailey Towles, Tyler, Tiarra, Britton, Sadie, Sawyer, and Broderick Schow, and Hunter, Levi, Savanna, and Caroline Dean; brothers Allen Dean, Rowland Dean (Lynn), Harry Dean, his sister Sharon Dean Jenkins (Dennis); and many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. prior to services.
