He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Patterson and Elsie Patterson; and his siblings, Eleanor Patterson Hardy, Alton Patterson, Lloyd Patterson, Charles Patterson and Norma Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Marion Edna Patterson; and his children, Thomas Everett Patterson, Jr. (Kathryn), Lisa Patterson Patton (Michael), Janice Patterson Hathaway (Marcus) and Susan Patterson Allen (Christopher). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
