He was predeceased by : his father Bruce Schlyer. He is survived by : his mother Sabine Ruppel; his sister Elizabeth Schlyer; his son Jeffrey; his nieces and nephews, Jones and Dante; his uncle Jeff (Jones); his grandmother Ulrike; and his brother-in-law Dante (Elvira).
When the Covid-19 pandemic shut down the campus, Jeff moved to Jackson, WY, with two of his best friends, Francis and Matteo.
