He was predeceased by: his stepsister Peggy Sue Ewing. He is survived by: his parents, Patricia Ward and Harold Ward of San Diego, CA; his sister June (Roger Wood) of El Cajon, CA; his stepsiblings, Lynda Howell, Dennis Ward, John Ward and Melodie Ward; his pets, Toby and Pip; his brother Charley McLaughlin; and his nephew Anthony McLaughlin.
Upon the completion of his enlistment in the Air Force he returned from England to his home in San Diego and brought many people together to form the first National Ataxia Foundation here in San Diego.
