With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hanna Shaba Masso of El Cajon, California, who passed away on July 5, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Hanna may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Shaba Masso and Hany Chewa. He is survived by: his wife Helwa Masso; and his children, Najim, Hayat, Jackline, Ilham, Ibtisam, Nouria and Nahla. He is also survived by 30 Grandchildren, and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Chaldean Catholic Church (1763 N 1st St, El Cajon, CA 92021). A burial was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the El Cajon Cemetery (2080 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019). Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Royal Palace (1340 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the El Cajon Cemetery (2080 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019).
