We bid farewell to Katherine Costa of El Cajon, California, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 29, 2025 at the age of 105. She was predeceased by: her parents, James DeVita and Serafina DeVita (Scavitto); her husband Dr. Earl C. Costa; her son Dr. Ronald E. Costa; and her granddaughter Alison R. Costa.
She is survived by: her daughters, Charlene Costa of San Diego, CA. and Cheryl Penrose (James) of Milmont Park, PA; her sister Sarah Napoli; and her grandchild Lewistown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
In August 1988, Katherine was the first woman to receive the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Rotary Foundation International, which she received for selling $800 worth of Rotary cookbooks to the spouses.
