With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Layla Juma Hano of El Cajon, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 8, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Juma Koda; and her husband Hikmet Astifu Hano. She is survived by: her children, Jason, Jennifer and Sibilia; her grandchildren, Nathan Yousif, Haylie Yousif, Kayla Shaba and Skye Shaba; her mother Najiba Gulla Koda; and her siblings, Dauod Koda, Mazin Koda, Huda Ballo, Ghada Gulla and Bayda Zora.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Cathedral (1627 Jamacha Way, El Cajon, CA 92019). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, CA 92102). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Royal Palace (1340 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, CA 92102).
