He was predeceased by: his parents, Giuseppe Sanfilippo and Agata Orlando; and his siblings, Santo, Giuseppe Sanfilippo, Maria Zafarana, Anna Asciutto and Agata Principato.

He is survived by: his wife Rosa Sanfilippo; his children, Agata Avila (Joe) and Giuseppe Sanfilippo (Angela); his grandchildren, Rosa Rosa, Rosa Ilissa Colton, Joseph Avila, Rosalia Sanfilippo and Mariano Sanfilippo; and his great grandchildren, Anthony, Thomas Rosa, Emilia Colton and Joseph Avila. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
