He is survived by: his children, Raymond Avila Jr., Michael Avila, Sylvia Perkovich, Patricia Schneider and James Avila; and his brother Alfred Avila. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the East County Mortuary Chapel (374 Magnolia Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (13208 Lakeshore Dr, Lakeside, CA 92040). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, CA 92102).
