He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edmund Nelson and Myrtle Helen Strandberg; his wife Dolores Jendro Nelson; his in-laws, Donald and Bernice Sawyer; his son-in-law Robert Crockett; and his grandson Robert Crockett II.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Crockett, Mike Nelson and Dennis Nelson; his sister Ruby Lizkow; his daughter-in-law Liz Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Ted Lizkow, Gary Sawyer and Darlene Sawyer. He is also survived by grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as four nephews and one niece.
