It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Waleed Zakoo Gorges Alhanoush of El Cajon, California, who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Waleed departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Waleed. Though Waleed may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his son Khalid Alhanoush; and his brothers, Ghanim Alhanoush and Bahnam Alhanoush. He is survived by: his children, Firas Alhanoush, Ramey Alhanoush, Nawar Zako and Hiba Zako; and his siblings, Salim Alhanoush, Mari Alhanoush, Sarah Alhanoush and Munira Alhanoush.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Syriac Orthodox Church (8824 Cottonwood Ave, Santee, CA 92071). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:10 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt Hope Cemetery (3751 Market St, San Diego, CA 92102).
