He was predeceased by : his parents, Julio Silveira Alves and Maria Jose Nunes Alves; his brother Alvarino Alves; and his son-in-law Lester Ward. He is survived by : his wife Durvalina; his children, Suzana Leiva (Tony), Elizabeth Ward and Nelson Alves (Kaite); his grandchildren, Lauren, Madeline, Carson, Easton, Cameron, Hailey and Huckson; and his siblings, Alvarina Dutra, Filomena Martins (John), Analia Vieira (Clemente) and Alexandrino Alves (Maria). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and friends.
